Thankful Thursday | Peoples Opinions

Hiya guys, I just wanted to show you some of my pictures from Instagram over the last week.

This picture was taken while I sat out in the sun at the local park.
I took out my book and skinny vanilla spiced latte and sat out on the bench.

Just having the sunshine back makes me happy. Oh how I've missed it!

As you can see from each of these pictures I was looking for peace and quiet. Just anyway to relax. Tea, candle and reading in the park. The main highlight of the week was not exactly drama as such but learning more about people and becoming shocked.

Friends you make judgments behind your back and have categorized you as a certain type of person really don't deserve the friendship that's been given to them.

In all honesty I could cry and winge and become very angry like a little angry garden gnome but what is the point. It won't make the situation any better.

So today I was sent an email from Lauren Formosa (that's right sheepy your name is visible to all :D)
She has become such an amazing friend to me over here. She makes me laugh, and feel inspired with her unbelievable confidence. Seriously the girl will not care what others will think, she lets it out! Amazing! (her very own catch phrase, heehee). So not only am I feeling down by the silly girly silent treatments but so has Lauren. She sent this email today, relevant to what has been happening.

People's Opinion of You

Everything about you speaks volumes to others.  And everyone is going to have an opinion about you.  You can't stop people having their opinion, but what you do with those opinions is entirely up to you.

Are you going to let it bother you, be offended, worry about it, do something to change their opinion...? How are you going to handle people's opinion of you?

How am I going to handle these opinions people have on me? Well first off, we're supposed to have a big discussion about our feelings and opinions tomorrow with our head tutor... Oooh will there be tears, shouting or will there be forgiveness? Who knows but I myself will sit back and hear what everyone has to say. I plan on keeping it cool and just ignoring what has happened in the last few weeks. I'm only going to be here for another 4-5 months so my aim is to respect everyone, no matter how they act. I'm going to meet people who will be difficult to get on with. And I will have to get used to taking peoples bullshit.

So on to the little things that managed to make me happy throughout the week.

Thankful Thursday

Honesty to friends

Coffee, Barrys Tea, hot chocolate (with my usual huge amounts of cream) and skinny vanilla spiced lattes

Me time - cafes, parks, libraries, gym

Being overpaid for babysitting

Interview and offer received from a University

McDonalds

Kinder Bueno Bar (last one before lent... long difficult journey)

Oscars - Who doesn't love Ellen!

Reading in the bath

I'm grateful for even though my family over here are miserable from school and work, my parents are happy. They love life more and more it seems. Their best-friend, soul mate, cringy relationship is something of which that I do hope to achieve someday.

And lastly, having the sunshine back in my life. It forces the corners of my mouth to transform into a smile. That kind of power makes me happy knowing I can always depend on the sun when it comes out.

Thank you so much guys for reading.
I will have another post up for tomorrow sometime hopefully.
I promise you there won't be any more moaning from Moaning Martel here :)

30 Day Snap #30 | Final Day, Sunny Day

So Guys, it's all finished. It'll be nice to look back on these photos I think.
This month was a pretty busy month, with coming over here to London, having an interview for Nursing (where I'll be starting this coming September), having my brother and bff coming over from Ireland, going to the movies, shopping, my trips to London, babysitting in between it all.
Today I went to a temple in Letchmore Heath. It was a lovely spot for such a beautiful day.

I'm planning on grouping my favourite photos together for a blog when I head back home to Ireland as well, might as well show the memories.

Anyway let me know what your highlights were during this snap challenge.

30 Day Snap #19 | Sunny London

Today was a lovely day, 28 degrees man, and this evening its 25... like I would love a temperature of 35 degrees :)
So I took out a blanket and laid down scanning through some old pictures, listening to music and for ages I was trying to get knots tangles out of a chain. They're so damn hard.
I would have preferred a book out in the sun, but sadly I don't have any. But music and listening to the neighbours rambling on was fun enough.

Please God will there be sunshine for us all tomorrow... the weather has such an affect on our moods... I wonder at times what it would be like to live in a hot country... Oh The Dream... :)

30 Day Snap #15 | Church & Change

Church is very important in my life. I go every Sunday, I have been since I can remember. And it was my Grand-mother who showed me how important it is to have faith. And I've gone through so much, believing that God was punishing me, but I do accept all the bull crap that's happened to me, my life could be much worse... so I thank God for how I have such friends and family, and a home where I feel safe in.

Church is a place where you can just think and talk to the ones we've lost, and I find it so tranquil listening to the choir in a church... I love the natural echo that is carried out around the chapel.
Seeing by this photo, I went in early before Mass, just to say a few prayers and light a few candles. I came across a simple, lovely prayer by the candles. And there I admitted that I need to learn to get over my pride and selfishness at times... I need change in my life. I want to smile more. More than i used to. And so when I think of this prayer, I think of how lucky I am, and how many out there aren't.

"Lord, may this candle be a light,
for you to enlighten me in my difficulties and decisions.

May it be a fire
for you to burn out of me
all pride, selfishness and impurity.

May it be a flame
for you to bring warmth into my heart
towards my family, my neighbours, and
all those who meet me.

Through the prayers of the Mary Virgin
and Mother and St. Anthony. I place in
your care those I come
to pray for (especially.................)

I cannot stay long with you
in this church:
In leaving this candle
I wish to give you
something of myself

Help me to continue my prayer into
everything I do this day.

Amen"

30 Day Snap #13 | New body Wash

This is my first time trying out a Burt's Bees body product. This one is the 'Extra Energising Citrus & Ginger Root Body Wash and is about £10. It is very oily substance when applying but it's left my skin feeling so smooth. The honey and glycerin provides the skin with extra softness and the aromatic scent rejuvenates and energises the mind and body. It hasn't irritated my skin in any way, and my skin is pretty sensitive. So I'm really happy with this product.

Are there any other Burt's Bees products I should try out? I'm looking out for body lotions in particular.

30 Day Snap #10 | Laptop Time

Heya heya heya :)
Well I haven't really had much time with my tv shows or vlogs, so tonight I can get lost on my ipod and catch up on my emails and stuff. I know it is important to have time away from technology and focus on more important things like family and friends but I love winding down scanning through twitter and tumblr.

Today was really a lazy day for me. Just watching telly, making a right fool of myself to an exercise DVD :) Haaa! And dancing in the living room to Nat King Cole... God I love Jazz music.

But I love lazy days, days where your by yourself, able to think. And being here in London, the atmosphere is so different. The pace is so fast. Everyone is moving.

I'm beginning to catch the accent as well over here... "Yeah aww right mate..... Moaning Governor..... tea and crumpets darlin'?.... hows Big Ben?"
Maybe with the English accent I may SOUND smarter! My looks won't work though! Oompa loompas aren't smart, well just about chocolate... we know our chocolate ;) We get such terrible tans though, pity really....ah well, c'est la vie.

Anyway if anyone knows of any workout dvds let me know, cos they're great for making you feel like a right idiot. And I embrace that.

30 Day Snap #9 | Pretty Perfume

Who here loves perfume? It's perhaps one of my most favourite beauty products that I love, next to lipsticks :)
But especially in Summer, I just love wearing it. Feeling extra special.

Let me know if there's perfumes I should be trying out :)

30 Day Snap #8 | Summer Fair

Bonjour mes amis,
Well I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. I thought I'd love going places the whole time but hey back home in Ireland I'm not used to it. I usually just stay home one or two days of the week. So... I'M EXHAUSTED LIKE! But a cup of tea lifts my spirit.

I went to a Summer Fair today and met some people that were friendly and interesting. Some kid hit my cousins face so I got protective and went looking for the kid, heehee. There was a jazz band playing as well, sorta cool :)
And I found the most loveliest tea sets... I actually thought about stealing them... I know I'm awful! Stealing a cup! What if I was caught?

Send on your blog links if you like, cos I'm looking around later on to see what everyone is at.

30 Day Snap #6 | Football, Sun & Strawberry Mouse

Good evening,
Well I should say goodnight, sorry guys but I've been busy all day. I had an English and Maths exam for a course in Nursing in Barnet. So hopefully lads I'll be ok with getting in :) So with that and running around playing football, and dancing (pathetically) with my cuz, I sat myself down tonight on the most welcoming couch with a Strawberry Mousse... my new Best Friend I might add.

And I couldn't stay away from the sun, as you may have noticed. It makes me happy, seriously it does. The sun rises, then a smiles spreads across my face. The sun goes down and I wear a frown.

I'm sooooo obsessed with my Uncles garden, I never leave it. So peaceful and private. I just take a good book or listen to some music and sit myself on the lawn and I'm perfect.

If anyone who reads this and dislikes the sun, then I'm clueless. I don't know what's wrong with you... weirdos.

30 Day Snap #5 | Comfy Time

Hellllooooo!
Well today guys I just went around some shops and to the park today. So I decided to show you a picture of how I'm spending my night.

What else would i be doing, but having a blueberry muffin, with a cuppa and watching "Coyote Ugly".

I find it more relaxing having a cuppa, with a book or watching the telly, rather than going out to noisy nightclubs where your screaming to be heard, and feeling self-conscience about your appearance.
So I'm pretty happy with the way I am, just having a simple night in with friends, watching a good movie.

So guys don't forget that nobody should change you, that it is all up to yourself.
I hope everyone is enjoying this 30 day snap challenge as much as me :)
