A Ramble Round London & a New Travel Journal

I love trips to London, especially when I get little things I like.

I stayed Friday night with my lovely American/British friend Jaz in London and we set out the next day (her 19th Birthday) looking for boots and making a trip to King's Cross.
She has never been and well come on! Who doesn't want to go to the Harry Potter Gift shop?

My friend Jaz has this Pikachu bag and she gets noticed all the time.
Not only does she get noticed but she seems to have this strange luck about her. I'm not sure whether the luck is good or bad. For instance, when we were walking along Oxford Street, there was this little car (picking up rubbish) coming along the pathway. Now did she move? No, it was as though she were in slow motion just staring at it coming for her. She then said 'Sh*t', in front of someones face as well. The lady just stared at her, so funny!

Things have got more expensive here in this shop at Kings Cross, but it didn't stop me from buying some little purchases.

AGAIN, Jaz was noticed for her bag pack. We were asked by some chirpy staff member whether we wanted to line up and get our picture taken, with the Platform 9 &3/4 wall, along with having Pikachu in the cage. You can barely see, but Hedwig is there.
I couldn't wear Harrys glasses as I am in Slytherin House. But hey, I'm proud of it :)

After we had our photos taken, the staff that worked there all jumped in for a photo with Pikachu. It was hilarious!
If you don't want to buy anything at the shop, it really doesn't matter. Just go along for the look and meet the friendly staff that work there.

Bought a bit of stationary in the shop.

I was thinking how people who have this kind of job, how do they get to work? The train? Bus?
I can't imagine this lady painting herself when she arrives.
She probably gets a lot of people staring at her on the tube, wouldn't she? Heehee.

Came across this place. It was very difficult to get even one picture. One old guy kept trying to photo bomb the shot... Like GET OUT OF THE WAY WOULD YA!

A bit of street entertainment, along with a blue cock. Nothing normal much in London.

My lovely Irish flag was in the back :D

I myself am a Harry Potter & Disney fan, and my friend is all Anime.
She loves this shop, TokyoToys in Piccadilly Circus.

At first I thought it wasn't the Disney shop seeing this. Thought it was some place else *COUGH*

Seeing Star Wars in the Disney shop was a little strange, but look at Chewy! I want him so much, but he's £20 sadly!

I think Jaz and I stepped in here not even for a minute, and she ran out straight away. As you know, perfume and cosmetics everywhere. It probably was not a reaction you see from a person leaving Selfridges. She fell out of the building, choking from the smell. It made me laugh anyway.

I bought her a little Hedwig keyring from King's Cross. IT'S SO FLUFFY, she'd say.

I wanted this straight away when I saw it.
I've been looking around for a book that will make do as a travel journal.

The pages inside are all different. They even contain lovely little pictures of old buildings, quotes and nature.

When the day was coming to an end, Jaz and I came up with a little game. In the tube station, we sat on the long escalator with no one on our side. And with people going up the opposite direction we'd start meowing. They of course were looking around wondering where the cats were. Then as we were coming to end of the escalator we'd jump up and shriek like a cat. Everyone was staring (not sure whether they laughed) but we couldn't stop ourselves from laughing. I think we may have meowed the whole way back to the house as well. There were Arsenal supporters everywhere, so we were meowing outside the pubs. Some guy stared at me but I pointed at my friend, "That was NOT me!"

I hope you liked this little random post.
I'm not sure when I'll be posting another, as my laptop looks as though it's going to die. Seriously! The battery I think has come to an end. So if you don't get any Maruitius Holiday posts (part 2...) it's because of my laptop dying with all the photos in it.
But don't worry, I'll be home in Ireland by June/July so I'll manage to get a laptop somehow and post them memories up for you all :)

I am currently writing this post out in the sunshine. It's about time we've had some good weather.

Cheers to you peeps for your time. And apologies for the blurry pictures, they were taken by my phone, so...

Only a few more weeks till the holz, WHOO HOO!

Lush products, London trip | Little update on life

So everyone, it's been a while since I actually blogged something that wasn't 'Thankful Thursday'. All I can say is that I have been extremely lazy last week. Sure there was college and work but any time I was free I was either napping or catching up on my tv shows... anyone that watches 'Baby Daddy' let me know whether you're team Danny or Ben. Every episode just gets better and better, so I advise ye people who want a laugh to watch it.

This post is just a little update over the last week. Even though there was sleep deprivation I still had lots of fun. I got to explore a little more around London. I attended this little music, prayer service in London. Young adults from all around the world came to share their prayers through their own languages. The music was beautiful. I can still hear that wonderful cello... an instrument I most desire to learn.

I loved seeing Westminster Cathedral for the first time.
The architecture of the building was just so magnificent. Very grand compared to my little church back home in dear old Ireland, Haa! But seeing the amount of work that was put in was breathtaking.

Today after bringing my little cousin to a little Easter craft activity class and Irish dancing lessons (imagine when I am a Mum... Pheww) I then had a little surprise trip to St. Albans.
I bought a few little essentials in Boots, sun lotion, after sun moisturiser and so on... getting my last minute shopping done for my holiday, then for the first time, I entered Lush. I've heard far too many great comments about this place from bath lovers. And I am a bath lover.
Even before I saw the shop I could just smell the deliciousness of the place... "Where is that amazing smell coming from?"

I didn't want to leave the place, as I was having so much fun getting over-whelmed by the so many different smells there was. I made sure what I bought would be worth it, so I circled the shop like 4 times. In the end I decided on two items. Bath bombs. And yes I did imagine my tub exploding as I threw it in! Such a day dreamer!

Firstly I decided on getting the 'Blackberry Bath Bomb'. It was too delicious to leave behind. I mean come on! Who doesn't wasn't to smell like Ribena coming out from the bath tub! It's every girls dream!

And here I only used half of it. Smelling like a blackberry, Oh Yeah!

And secondly I bought this beauty. The 'Tisty Tosty'. The lady in the shop threw it into a basin of water and there I was  'Ooooing' while watching it sizzle like a rasher on a pan (not such a great comparison... smelling of grease can be a little different than smelling like a rose.) But the rose buds were just left floating as though it were a pretty pond... "I'M GETTING IT!"

Then just to finish the day off, me and my aunt went to this lovely cafe. The Merchant, in St. Albans. I had a latte while my aunt taunted me with her mocha. I mean look how amazing it looked with it's overloaded cream and topped off chocolate powder.

This is what keeps me happy. Just having a day with exploring around. Not planning the day out, just going with the flow. The only thing that is missing is having my bestie Edel. She would make the experience over here in London a little more fun. Filling it with memories.

Are any of you addicted to Lush? If so, please let me know what your favourite products are, or if you've heard any good reviews that too is welcome. I really want to test out every single one of them.

Thanks so much for reading lads & lassies,

Thankful Thursday | First Week Back to England

Credit by 'Pinterest'

Hello hello hello... one, two, one two...
I hope the week back isn't too stressful for ye guys. Piles of work from School/College, family, it can feel so heavy when it's thrown right back at us again. Straight after the Christmas holidays.
I think after the holidays we always think to ourselves, "God, I took them two weeks for granted!"
I guess I could have stayed at home more, to come to think of it. I spent most of my time out shopping, visiting relatives and friends and of course cinema trips. I went four times to the cinema. So that is one thing about me, I LOVE MOVIES! Like I watch so much telly, it isn't right!
I saw 'The Hobit; The Desolation of Smaug". Far better than the first one. I also went to see 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty'. I was so surprised to how good it actually was. I usually think Ben Stiller is only okay in movies, but this one was, he was really good. He wasn't the American version of Hugh Grant in this film, you know the awkward, embarrassing, always-making-a-fool-of-himself-kind-of-guy. So yes, do go and see it! Then I saw 'Anchorman 2'. Brilliant because... come on, Brick Tamland. If you haven't seen any of the two movies, Brick is just that strange, stupid, zoned out guy... you would so love him! And lastly I saw 'Frozen' for the second time. I had to see it with my little cousin because as she loves Disney movies, I knew well this would go right into her top list... along with 'Pocahontas', BOOYAH! So in the end she told me that "Next Halloween I'm dressing up as Elsa and you can be Anna!" Fine with me, I do have the Anna mug from the Disney store after all.

 'Winter Wonderland'

I miss the lights so much. London truly go all out.

One of me best mates. Cillian is now my constant go-to for Snapchat.

Me and Katie get on so much better than we used tom when we were in Secondary School. Really shows how each of us has changed over the last two years.

All pictures credited to me.

Thankful Thursday

- Getting to spend time with my old school friends from Secondary School. We all went for a Chinese together and then off to the pub. I don't drink but it was lovely to be out, catching up over what's been happening in our lives. So strange how grown-up we've actually become.

- Catching up (like days, not hours) with Edel, my greatest chummy. We had our traditional, childish, lovely sleepovers. Meaning popcorn, movies, walks in the countryside, laughing, being random and chatting till 5am.

- Watching 'Sherlock' season 3 with my Dad and brother. I am the HUGEST fan of Benedict Cumberbatch. Not only is he great in 'Sherlock' and 'The hobbit', but 'Star Trek; Into Darkness' definitely went up in my top 3 Sci-fy movies.

- Chatting to Anna from 'a whole lot of chitty chat' and Sinead from 'Dreaming Again'.
We are never off Twitter. Seems to be a habit/problem, heehee :) But I do love our little chats. I do hope though one day we'll all be able to meet up. Maybe broaden our friendship, very much like 'Sprinkle of Glitter' and 'Zoella'.

- Getting a few Christmas presents over here in London. I got a bottle of perfume, a coffee pot maker, Brazilian coffee, toffee sweets with a cute set of tongs to put them on a plate and a beautiful short length scarf.

- My new love, 'Twinings Chamomile and Spiced Apples, tea' with a teaspoon of manuka honey. Really helps me get a great night sleep. Plus I've been told by one of my friends that it's good for not only stress but acne and period pains as well. Just the thing I need.

- Meeting my friends after the long break. Getting hugs and 'welcome backs'. Really put a smile on my face.

- Another thing to be thankful for this week, is that I have no work for the duration of this week. I'll be starting back next week, so I get time to finish up on a lot of assignments and enjoy my night in on Sunday with dear old Sherlock. Season finale, so it's a biggy :)

- University invites. I was so happy to have heard back from this particular one. I won't say what it is, not sure if I can online? But me and a good few of my friends will be taking the tests at the end of January. So we won't be alone, or scared. As my friend Robyn said yesterday, "We'll hold hands and skip off merrily to our exam. We'll be on our way to failure or success." Either way we'll be there for the journey. Together.

- Having the library. Even though there are some strange weirdos in this particular library I go to, I do know exactly where all the books I need access to are. Plus I love staring up at the ceiling, with it's pretty wooden beams.

So that's all everyone. It was/is a busy week, but I seem to be settling back in quite nicely.

Next week however, will be so stressful I may forget to put up a 'Thankful Thursday' post, just to let ye know. I highly doubt that there's anyone out there on a Thursday morning counting down the minutes, "Where's Michaels post?" Heehee :D

Thank you so much guys for reading and I do hope in the next number of weeks to read up on my followers blogs. I would like to get to know ye better. That way, build our blogging community further and further.

Lots of crazy luvin'

My September Favourites

Hey fellow readers, this is my 1st ever haul/ favourites post, so I hope that you do like it. I love Fashion so much. It is something that makes me get so hyper and heart racing.
I was told by a friend that I should do 'Fashion' posts, so maybe this will be the beginning :)
Can I add the dazzling sunshine as a favourite, because we didn't get much sun as I'd like this September, and when it did come out it made me so happy :)

Let us start us with the beauty collectibles that I adored this Month, all bought from 'Superdrug'.

- Sleek Make-Up Blush, Antique.
- Rimmel London Eyebrow Pencil, in Dark, 001
& ScandalEyes Precision Micro Eyeliner (Waterproof).
- Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair, Shine Tonic.
- Batiste Dry Shampoo, XXL Volume.
- Tresemme Texture Style, Back Comb Dust (dizzying heights).

Sleek Blush, Antique
Since I am quite pale, I found that this blusher added a vintage, radiant flush to my cheeks. It can also be used as a highlighter I found. It's ultra-long lasting and it suits all skin types.

Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil
First time for everything, and for me I have never really paid much attention to my eyebrows (and I should have) there pretty fair compared to the colour of my hair (a little rhyme for you), so I had to see whether anything could be done. I felt so strange when I first used this applicator, I looked unnoticeable in the mirror, but I've gone extremely light with applying, and at last I have gotten used to it's ways. I find that if I have my eyes equally as good with make-up then it doesn't look so strange.

Scandaleyes Liquid Eyeliner
I've tried the L'oreal liquid eyeliner, and the maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise, and this one seemed to be my favourite. I feel as though this pen does the job for me, I get the line as thin as possible with this eyeliner, which I wasn't so successful on doing with the others.

Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair
This is to be applied on dry, styled hair.
Thankfully, this spray doesn't make my hair feel oily, it does what it says on the tin. Adds shine. I have sadly dull, dry hair, and this shine tonic, tricks the eye, making it appear so healthy and shiny... Ooooh.
People will say, "Ooh, your hair looks so shiny, surely you must have used something!"....
"No m'darlings, not a thing!"... wink wink, heehee :) Nah only joking... must advertise the product at least (show my appreciation).

Baptiste Dry Shampoo, XXL Volume
I found this to be very much like strong hairspray, so take caution! Use sparingly! But it does like it says, adds lots of Volume. I am always in a rush, so this is great for me, when I want to tie my hair up, and make the roots appear more bouncy :)

Tresemme Texture Style, Backcomb Dust
And lastly, my favourite beauty item. For me, instead of following the instructions that say to apply on your hands, I just sprinkle it, little by little, onto my scalp. It made my hair feel so soft as well, which was a surprise bonus for me. It also isn't as difficult as dry shampoo, where you have to hide the white dust. Me love love this product. Thumbs up I say :)

Lepard Print Umbrella & A Pretty Little Box
Umbrella cos like it rains... heehee. Very important. Aaaand...
It's a box... yeah, but not only a box... a secret opening to NARNIA!
If only it were true.
The reason why I bought this was because starting from September, me and best friend EdelBelle (you must know her by now, with me mentioning her all the time), well we're sending cards to one another till the end of July, (the duration of our separation from College). And in these cards, we ask one another a question. It could be about, "What's your opinion on anxiety?"...."What's your favourite Season?" Which I wrote in my first Issue (of September) to her. So my given cards will be added to this box, along with some pictures.

Each of these cards are in a set of 3. I adore them so much and thank heavens Edel loves them too. I am awaiting for my card to come in the post, so I'm excited to see what she says.

Slippers from 'Primark'
These are a huge favourite. They were given to me as a 'Welcome' present by my Aunt, for my stay in London. And they're from 'Primark'.
I love how it has the soft pink flowers attached to the sides, and that it has a gold, crisp lining at the bottom. Also strangely they match my new umbrella, well I'm not going to be using the umbrella in the house, or my slippers out in town, so... actually you know what, maybe I could dance around the house with the umbrella... Hmmm, that could work out to be quite fun!

'New Look' Boots and New brown patched-look leather Purse
I took these pictures the day I bought my new purse. Nice leather, good leather.
And I wanted to show you the boots, that my Mum bought for me, before coming to London. They're from 'New Look', and their price was (in sterling) £37.
I also wanted to show you from outside my College in Barnet.
I loved how the red brick and fallen leaves matched my boots and my purse.

So there you have it guys, I hope you enjoyed my ramblings, photos, stories and product opinions.
It's only a start, but I hope that I will continue with doing posts very much like these.

Love you all so much,

Cheerio x
