30 Day Snap #2 | A relaxing morning with tea & a face mask

Day 2 June 2014

I woke up later than expected, just before 12... what is wrong with me? I know! Well it was after all my last sleep-in before heading back to my final term of college.

I woke up to have the house to myself, just the way I like it. I'm like Kevin from Home Alone :)

So I decided that instead of a productive Monday, I'd have a REAL lazy day.

So the kettle was on, the teapot, teacup and strainer were all set aside while I rubbed on a Superdrug face mask. They're not actually too bad. I'm sorta stuck with these packets as my tea tree mask container is almost empty. Only 3 weeks remaining here, so there's no point in buying another tub.

I love when I'm alone in the house as I can sit outside with my tea and porridge (as I did) and just flick through my twitter feed. We have very high trees, so there's no chance in anyone looking down at me with my fruit-mask-covered face. I love having privacy. I hate it when you can hear the neighbors and know they can hear you too. I shouldn't care, but I'm new to all this living in a city.

My friend told me she was surprised I came from a countryside, farming area. That I appear to be the city-ish type. I don't mind either, but when I have my own place in Canterbury, things will be different. I'll have my own rules with getting up in the morning and dancing to cheesy songs on the radio, having my own curfew and deciding what I can do in my spare time. Even having friends over. Seriously it's not easy living with relatives that aren't your parents. I'm blessed to have the type of parents that want you to have fun with life, get pissed, whatever. Knowing that I have had such independence from them has allowed me to remain the little nun I am today, Haa!

On a happy note, just know I feel better with my peaceful time by myself and the tea and face mask did really help. It's always good to get time to yourself, if you don't, well you'll go stir crazy with the people around you and take it out on them.

Thanks for reading lovies,

Thankful Thursday | Superdrug, Slapping other employees... pretty much a randon week!

Hello dearies :)

It's another Thursday and it's time to give the list of what I've been thankful for throughout the week.

My friend Peachy from The Randomness of Unicorns took this picture today at College. Out enjoying the sunshine with our sweets and Superdrug buys.

The week itself was pretty much rushed with getting my charity project fundraiser organised. I spent time handing out fliers, buying toys, juice, napkins for the event (that was Saturday.)
Sadly enough we had rain on the day and well it didn't stop me and my friend from dancing on the street. Funnily enough I got thrown money from some guy in a driving car and I had to chase a fella down to get his change. Seriously! He told me if I wanted it, I had to chase him. Naturally being the Kayla I am, I ran after him. I like the idea of seeing a woman chasing a fella down and taking his change, Haaa!

This also made me smile this week. I got to slap someone I work with.
Now I don't really abuse people (occasionally the brother), ok, so just get that straight. I was asked by a guy that is in a way my boss, so I followed his command. All open mouths around the kitchen that I actually went through with it.... "I'm not fired, am I?"

My Thankful Thursday :)

- Having people at work giving friendly smiles and asking how I am.

- Taking a day off, with just by a wonderful time on catching up on bloglovin', with a pot of tea, scented candles and ginger cake.

- Buying a 3 for 2 offer in 'Superdrug'. I got scandeleyes waterproof blue eyeliner, Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail pain Huckleberry and Maybelline Eyestudio Master Duo liquid eyeliner, along with a few face masks. 1) De-stressing Mud Mask, 2) Superfruits Exfoliating Mask and Dead Sea Purifying Clay Mask (future little review on all of these)

- Spending time with my pal Jas and really getting to know her a little more.

- My glasses (now getting headaches from my stupid laptop....eeek, WORRYING MUCH!)

- My brother practicing his french on the phone for his mock oral, so funny!

- My sunglasses (My Audrey Hepburn ones)

- Jewellery to keep me entertained in class.

- Snapchat (kaylahigg93, btw)

- Thankfully I got my first part of my Holiday in Mauritius post up (previous post)

- Having an optimistic point of view that I don't need drama in my life, that I can see the end of the road much clearer now.

- My blog. I actually got distracted this week (good that is.) I forgot how good it was just to see what everyone has been up to.

- This kinda follows, I've been recently followed by Jules on Everywhere, Please. She's recently just nominated me for a liebster award. And her questions will be most definitely answered. She has quickly escalated to being one of my favourite bloggers.

- Babysitting the cutest little boy. And hearing the most wonderful news that his mother, after having many miscarriages is expecting a baby. When she least expected it, after being told she may not ever have another child. She cried and I just smiled at her saying this happens to those who least expect it.

- New laundry :D

- My tutor Petra. She is a lovely lady and tries her best for her students.

- Harry Potter & the Order of the Pheonix.

- Take That, reliving the old albums :)

Well that is all. I'm hoping to have a fun week next week, with last assignments submitted in, the probability of a heat wave and spending a night in London tomorrow with my friend. I will be dying her hair from dark brunette to blond. Then we'll spend the day just exploring London. Hopefully lots of pictures to come to you lovely peeps.

Love you all so much, for actually reading this Haaa!

Here's me this morning with my hair wet (I always let it dry naturally) and my new Indian earings from Mauritius.

Thankful Thursday

Hello Beauties :)
It's yet another 'Thankful Thursday'... where I share what I was grateful for through the week.
It is actually becoming my favourite day of the week surprisingly. With having nice classes in College, finishing up at 2:30pm and looking forward to Friday :) I'm beginning to think that Thursday is now the start of the week ever since I started doing these posts.

So this week (from the pictures above) I spent my time studying for a big BIG exam in Physiology, working both Saturday and Sunday in the restaurant and attending a 'Mind, Body & Spirit Fair', which was a lot of fun. The psychic reading I got done was rubbish, I was the one being able to read her in the end..... FAKE!
But there were times that had me smiling and feeling good throughout the week.

Muh 'Thankful Thursday':
- Crumpets
- New Instagram Friend... she's so funny!
- 2 hour convo on Skype with Brother.
- Sunday lie-in with cousin watching 'X-Factor'.
- The Rain... yeah, because I'm happier with it when I'm working :)
- New facebook group... gossiping away about what not ;)
- A Clear Quartz Stone, a gift from a College friend.
- Birdy 'Wings'
- Watching 'Bones'... this will be a regular I grant you that... Sorry!
- New Gold Nail Varnish 'Barry M' from 'Superdrug' and a 'New Look' top.

I know people say this a lot, but this week did fly by... I'm happy by it really, mid-term is getting closer... YAY :) A whole week off.

So, I'm looking forward to what this week brings, hopefully unexpected, surprising things. I love surprises.

My September Favourites

Hey fellow readers, this is my 1st ever haul/ favourites post, so I hope that you do like it. I love Fashion so much. It is something that makes me get so hyper and heart racing.
I was told by a friend that I should do 'Fashion' posts, so maybe this will be the beginning :)
Can I add the dazzling sunshine as a favourite, because we didn't get much sun as I'd like this September, and when it did come out it made me so happy :)

Let us start us with the beauty collectibles that I adored this Month, all bought from 'Superdrug'.

- Sleek Make-Up Blush, Antique.
- Rimmel London Eyebrow Pencil, in Dark, 001
& ScandalEyes Precision Micro Eyeliner (Waterproof).
- Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair, Shine Tonic.
- Batiste Dry Shampoo, XXL Volume.
- Tresemme Texture Style, Back Comb Dust (dizzying heights).

Sleek Blush, Antique
Since I am quite pale, I found that this blusher added a vintage, radiant flush to my cheeks. It can also be used as a highlighter I found. It's ultra-long lasting and it suits all skin types.

Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil
First time for everything, and for me I have never really paid much attention to my eyebrows (and I should have) there pretty fair compared to the colour of my hair (a little rhyme for you), so I had to see whether anything could be done. I felt so strange when I first used this applicator, I looked unnoticeable in the mirror, but I've gone extremely light with applying, and at last I have gotten used to it's ways. I find that if I have my eyes equally as good with make-up then it doesn't look so strange.

Scandaleyes Liquid Eyeliner
I've tried the L'oreal liquid eyeliner, and the maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise, and this one seemed to be my favourite. I feel as though this pen does the job for me, I get the line as thin as possible with this eyeliner, which I wasn't so successful on doing with the others.

Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair
This is to be applied on dry, styled hair.
Thankfully, this spray doesn't make my hair feel oily, it does what it says on the tin. Adds shine. I have sadly dull, dry hair, and this shine tonic, tricks the eye, making it appear so healthy and shiny... Ooooh.
People will say, "Ooh, your hair looks so shiny, surely you must have used something!"....
"No m'darlings, not a thing!"... wink wink, heehee :) Nah only joking... must advertise the product at least (show my appreciation).

Baptiste Dry Shampoo, XXL Volume
I found this to be very much like strong hairspray, so take caution! Use sparingly! But it does like it says, adds lots of Volume. I am always in a rush, so this is great for me, when I want to tie my hair up, and make the roots appear more bouncy :)

Tresemme Texture Style, Backcomb Dust
And lastly, my favourite beauty item. For me, instead of following the instructions that say to apply on your hands, I just sprinkle it, little by little, onto my scalp. It made my hair feel so soft as well, which was a surprise bonus for me. It also isn't as difficult as dry shampoo, where you have to hide the white dust. Me love love this product. Thumbs up I say :)

Lepard Print Umbrella & A Pretty Little Box
Umbrella cos like it rains... heehee. Very important. Aaaand...
It's a box... yeah, but not only a box... a secret opening to NARNIA!
If only it were true.
The reason why I bought this was because starting from September, me and best friend EdelBelle (you must know her by now, with me mentioning her all the time), well we're sending cards to one another till the end of July, (the duration of our separation from College). And in these cards, we ask one another a question. It could be about, "What's your opinion on anxiety?"...."What's your favourite Season?" Which I wrote in my first Issue (of September) to her. So my given cards will be added to this box, along with some pictures.

Each of these cards are in a set of 3. I adore them so much and thank heavens Edel loves them too. I am awaiting for my card to come in the post, so I'm excited to see what she says.

Slippers from 'Primark'
These are a huge favourite. They were given to me as a 'Welcome' present by my Aunt, for my stay in London. And they're from 'Primark'.
I love how it has the soft pink flowers attached to the sides, and that it has a gold, crisp lining at the bottom. Also strangely they match my new umbrella, well I'm not going to be using the umbrella in the house, or my slippers out in town, so... actually you know what, maybe I could dance around the house with the umbrella... Hmmm, that could work out to be quite fun!

'New Look' Boots and New brown patched-look leather Purse
I took these pictures the day I bought my new purse. Nice leather, good leather.
And I wanted to show you the boots, that my Mum bought for me, before coming to London. They're from 'New Look', and their price was (in sterling) £37.
I also wanted to show you from outside my College in Barnet.
I loved how the red brick and fallen leaves matched my boots and my purse.

So there you have it guys, I hope you enjoyed my ramblings, photos, stories and product opinions.
It's only a start, but I hope that I will continue with doing posts very much like these.

Love you all so much,

Cheerio x
