30 Day Snap #23 | Making the right decision in moving to London

I spent yesterday chillaxing. My final day in London. It was lovely to think that I no longer had to have an alarm in the morning as well. I spent the evening in PJ's, watching favourite shows with a bowl of pasta.

Just think tomorrow (today really), I'll be home. I'll be back with Dad and everything will feel fine. I actually start to tear up knowing how shortly the time is coming. I've missed everyone so much, but also leaving, I'll be missing all the lovely people I've met over here.

Last year I had a choice to either stay in Ireland or go to the UK. It was such a difficult choice to make! It's the end of the year (well of college that is) and I'm happy with the choice I made. Even though it hasn't been easy over here, living in a place that doesn't really feel like home, I know that times will change when I move away. There are so many possibilities and opportunities that can happen next year.

This is my last summer as I may have to stay over here next summer for work, so I plan on making the most out of my holidays with my family and friends.

Thanks for reading honey bunnies :)

Thankful Thursday | Flights booked & friendships

TBT- Ile aux Cerf, little island off the east coast of Mauritius.

This week I had the pleasure of becoming 21. So in my opinion birthdays should last a full week. The birthday banners and balloons are still up and I just finished the cake yesterday.
My birthdays aren't as great as they used to be since my gran isn't around and she would be the person that would buy the cake. I do feel sad with not celebrating my birthdays as I should be doing. YOLO!

I also got the chance in buying a cupcake in the excuse of it being my 1st Bloganniversary.

I had been feeling quite lousy at the beginning of the week, with my lack of vitamin D that I miss from Ile Maurice, along with going to a home that doesn't feel like home. I miss my room and my piano so much. I miss being able to sing with having not to worry about being be too loud around the neighbors.
I had my friends at college, my acquaintances at work and my parents and grand-parents to help me forget about my left-to-my-dark-thoughts-sadness and distract me with private jokes, old stories from long ago and exciting things to look forward to.

The week ended with my grand-parents sending me a cheque and a sweet note for my birthday, my brother organising my flight for back home, news that my special unicorn friend having a surprise b-day gift in the post office and oh what else? Oh yes my deciding what University I want to go to. I've made up my mind.
The only thing left is to arrange accommodation for next year.

thankful thursday

- Waitrose snack shopping with college buddies.

- Bright Red Barry M Nails.

- Birthday cake, Chinese, pressies and skype call to family.

- A year of blogging fulfilled. I actually kept up with it. So thankful that I did.

- Woodland walkies. Never even knew they were here.

- My daddy: he sent me a message after chatting to him, that he misses me *tearing up*

- Freebies: Waitrose hot drinks before college with a pastry. Felt very grown up actually being able to run errands in the morning before college.

- Planning my trip home to Dublin & then to Edinburgh, to see my family that I haven't seen in approx 6 years.

- Receiving my final and most wanted offer for University. Nervousness followed by jumping on the spot, dancing, followed by crying. It was an exciting time for me.

- Having my friends to talk to. I felt soooo unbelievably grateful to have them over the week. Giving me advice and listening to me talk about my worries and opinions. Love u Peachy :) x

- Thankful for pjs, hot cocoa, sleep, pain killers (didn't want to be in agony at work), my phone, my ipod and relaxed couch potatoe moments with my 3 episodes of Sense & Sensibility.

My mum told me this evening she's happy that I have a place in Uni. I know it's supposed to be the kid that's happy in the end, but she wants me to pick a place I'll like, so she's the perfect mother in other words. She doesn't want me to choose a job that she sees fitting, she wants me to choose it.

How's everyone been this week? Any ideas what you'll be doing this summer? Only a few more weeks left.

Thanks for reading,

Making Choices & Taking Chances

This Pic was found on Pinterest

Hey my lovely peeps :)

Can you believe it's September? Sure Christmas will be here in no time and well, I'm not complaining. I love Christmas...
Something new has happened to me, and it's a life changing decision that I've only recently made. I had been given the option to do Nursing in Ireland, which is where I was born and raised. But I chose to fulfill it in London instead. I had a choice, and it was extremely difficult to make. But the choice was always up to me, not my family. And I never realized that I had to just pluck up the courage and speak out. Just to stand my ground and say "I've made my choice, and I'm going to London."

I did weigh the Pros and Cons for either side, for staying at home and for studying in London. And problems occurred like travel, money, hobbies, opportunities. And there is more opportunities in England for me. I can at least try to reach some of my goals over there. In making new friends, joining music and drama societies and charity organisations, with becoming fit and healthy by joining different clubs. Back home I wouldn't have the transport I need to attend any facilities or clubs. And it's more difficult to get into the Music industry back home as well.

I'm 20 years old and I think I should be away from everything I know. I need to see what else is lurking out there. I may gain back that confidence that was drawn from me over the years. And I may find that person who once laughed at pretty much anything, that person who didn't stress over silly things in life.

I liked this picture down below from Pinterest because it just seemed to fit everything I was thinking about when I started writing this post. "Go confidently in the direction of your Dreams, live the life you've imagined."
I am confident enough with going to London, in starting a new course, in meeting people. And my dream may not sound amazing, but I don't want just one single dream in my life. I want loads. In my last year of Nursing I want to travel to Africa to take care of sick kids, I want to see how far I can go with my Music, I want to meet that special, (someways-cocky and arrogant) guy who will know me and love all the good and the bad (God help him! Heavy emphasis on the bad), I want to travel, I want one of those big, loud families, (not Brady Bunch type, God I'd feel as though I was in prison watching that movie).
Anyway, these 'wants' of mine are actually dreams. So maybe with this little starting point in London might just be the beginning for me. Fingers-crossed hey?

I do hope that those of you that are out there searching for your dreams, just make a choice.
That one single choice may just be the push you need. Fear takes everything away. But you just got to speak out, (not yell) and say what you think and feel. It may sound corny and sappy in someway when that moment comes, but the message will get across. I'm a girl who is a glass half-empty-type and well if this kind of miracle can happen to me, well, it can happen to pretty much anyone else.

So today in fact, I'm taking the 18:55pm flight to London. And I start my first day at College tomorrow. Like it's all coming so fast already. Your thinking, "Doesn't this girl ever sleep?" Yeeeees, it's late and I'm stupid, but I'm happier when I'm sleep deprived. I'll let ya know whether I fall asleep mid way through a conversation with a lecture ;) It's happened before.

I love you all so much, and thank you, thank you, thank you for reading my every-single-sleep-deprived-thought blog post, heehee :)

Lots of Luv,
